Global Design Project #318: Sketch Challenge - Blessings of Home Tutorial

This was a fun challenge to do with the Heart and Home Suite.  It is so versatile, I am loving it!

I was inspired by the Global Design Project Weekly Challenge.  This week, it is a sketch challenge as shown below:
Instructions:

1.  Cut cardstock according to the following measurements:

    Card base - Old Olive
        5 1/2" 8 1/2"

    Layer 1 - Basic White
        5" x 3 3/3"

Layer 2 - Heart and Home DSP
        4 3/4" x 3 1/2"

    Inside - Basic White
        5 1/4" x 4"

2.  Score card base at 4 1/4" and use bone folder to reinforce fold

3.  Stamp and color flower with Stampin' Blends.

4.  Die cut flower using corresponding die

5.  Emboss white paper and DSP using timber embossing folder

6.  Adhere Basic White layer 1 to card base

7.  Adhere Heart and Home DSP layer 2 to layer 1

8.  Adhere flower to DSP layer 2

9.  Cut label from Pierced Blooms die for sentiment

10.  Stamp sentiment onto label

11.  Sponge Old Olive around edge of label

12.  Wrap linen thread around fingers and adhere to back of label     with glue dot

13.  Adhere label and thread to card front

14.  Stamp corner of flower to Basic White inside

15.  Adhere Basic White inside to inside of card base

I am thrilled with how this card turned out.  It was so relaxing to just sit and color.  I was experimenting with embossing the DSP and I'm so glad I did!  It gave it another layer of texture and dimension.
